Ziger/Snead's Classroom of the Future

I've just posted a medium-sized writeup of my office's entry to Architecture for Humanity's Classroom of the Future challenge. This was a fun quick case study, based on the principle that every element should serve at least two functions (or even better, three or four), and that the whole piece should act as one integral machine, made of off-the-shelf components.

The team behind AnOther Magazine, AnOther Man and DazedDigital are launching a new dynamic web platform this autumn: Anothermag.com.

We’d love you to be involved.

This week we've launched a section of the site called READER. It’s our way of instantly sharing posts from the blogs we love with our large community of readers. If you’d like to be involved we’d be looking at your blog every day and picking our favourite posts to go into the READER. Of course each post would be labeled with the title of your blog and with a link back to your site. Check it out at anothermag.com/reader

We really like the tone and content of your blog and would be very pleased to recommend it to our online community.

I'd be very grateful if you could let me know if this is an idea that appeals to you.

Thank you. Best Wishes,

Agata

Please email me on agata.b@dazedgroup.com

Fred, has there been feedback from school folks since you all did the study?

Spent a little time studying the drawings this evening. It does look like fun. The emphasis on multi-function efficiency is food for thought.

Hey Paul, thanks. Yeah, the school was very into the proposal, but they have a very tight budget, and I think they would need a specific grant for it.

It was cool to hear, after we posted this writeup, a lot of good feedback from the school, and even from some of the jurors who remembered our scheme.
